Our most beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) offered supplication (du'a) at times of calamity on a number of occasions in the time of extreme distress and need thus beseeching Allah (SWT) for His Mercy and benevolence.  Rasulullah (SAW) read  Qunut Nazilah for the salvation of the weak and oppressed in Makkah.

This Qunut was also read by Rasulullah (SAW) when the incident massacre of the 60 al hafiz companions for a month based on the following hadith:

Meaning: The Prophet sallallahu `alaihiwasallam have read qunut prayer not only at dawn when they massacre his al hafiz companions.
                                                                                            -Bukhari and Muslim-

HOW TO RECITE QUNUT NAZILAH
Qunut Nazilah can be recited at all obligatory prayers: Zuhur, Asar, Maghrib, Isya’ and Subuh. It can be recited at the final rak’at after getting up from Ruku’ for I’tidal.
The prayer is recited while standing for I’tidal. There are three ways to recite the prayer. The imam may select any of the followings:
  1. Recite the Qunut as normally recited during Subuh prayer.
  2. Recite the Qunut Nazilah only as per attached.
  3. Recite the Subuh Qunut followed by Qunut Nazilah.
Reminder:
  • If the Imam does not memorise the Qunut Nazilah attached, recite the Qunut as normally recited in Subuh prayer. Then, Qunut Nazilah can be recited after the prayer.
  • The Imam needs to inform the followers that Qunut will be recited in the prayer so that they can “ameen” the prayer.
QUNUT NAZILAH
Which means:
“'O Allah, we seek Your help; we beseech Your forgiveness; we seek guidance from You; we affirm our faith in You; we bow to Thee and we praise You; we are grateful and do not infidel; we reject and abandon everyone who forsakes You.
‘O Allah, You alone do we worship; unto You alone we pray; and before You alone we prostrate in worship; unto You alone we strive and implore;we cherish hope in Your mercy; we fear Your chastisement; most certainly, Your stern punishment will overtake those who reject the truth.
‘O Allah, may honour be with Islam and Muslims. Stop all kinds of tyranny and hostility. Help our oppressed brethren wherever they are. Lift them from their hardships, plagues, war and hostility. O Allah, save us from all evil and do not make our place the place of calamity; avert us from any disaster because only You can avert it, O Allah.”

Aku memohon ampun Ya Allah, Maha Penerima Taubat,
Aku memohon ampun Ya Allah daripada segala dosa,

Tambahkan kepadaku ilmu yang berguna,
Berikanlah aku amalan yang dimakbulkan,
Kurniakan kepadaku rezeki yg meluas,
Terimalah taubat kami dgn taubat nasuha

I ask pardon of God, the Granter of Repentance,
O Allah I ask the forgiveness of all our sins;

Provide me with
beneficial knowledge,
Confer me the grantful practices,
Bestowed upon me plentiful provision,
Accept our repentance with sincere repentance

Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) has warned of us a day that will come, a day in which there will be no soul left on earth to hymn the name of Allah and it is only by the name of Allah that the system of this world is running. This most regretful day will come nearing the timing of the end of the world. Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) said, "The world and all its contents are cursed and devoid of Allah's mercy, except for three things:
(1) the dhikr, or remembrance, of Allah (and all other worships near it),
(2) the religious (and truthful) alim, and
(3) the student, who is a seeker of religious knowledge.

"Therefore, remember Me; I will remember you. Give thanks to Me and reject Me not."
(Suratul Baqarah 2:152)

There a numbers of dua of healing in time of sickness, depress and other predicaments.  'Selawat' is a form of dua as 'Selawat' to Prophet Muhammad SAW bring lots of benefits and blessings to those who say it.  Just like istighfar, tasbih, etc. 'Selawat' was also the practice of the salafusolleh. When digging the trench during the battle of Khandaq, the sahabahs also said 'Selawat' in abundance to raise the spirit of the Mujahideen.

Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur’an:
"Verily Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet (saw). O, Believer! Send blessings upon him and salute him with a worthy salutation."

In the Holy Qur’an Allah (swt) has described the good qualities and praises of a number of Prophets; for instance, when Adam (as) was created all the angels were ordered to prostrate before him.  Ibrahim (as) is described as KhalilullahFriend of Allah.  Various other Prophets have been mentioned with praises.  However, our Prophet (saw) has been given a distinguished place by Almighty Allah in the Holy Qur’an, as evidenced by this verse:

Allah has asked the believers to honor His Messenger (saw), because He Himself is honoring the Prophet (saw). This is the utmost honor to our Messenger (saw), whose status is that of Leader of Apostles.
